Inquiraly by The Curiosity Department

Privacy Policy

Effective June 7, 2026

1. Who We Are

The Curiosity Department ("we," "us," "our") operates Inquiraly, an AI-powered interview preparation tool for podcast hosts and producers. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you use Inquiraly, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

Questions? Reach us at hello@designbetter.co.

2. What We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo URL from Google OAuth. We store your email address as your account identifier.

Content You Create

Inquiraly stores the prep documents you create, including:

  • Guest name, LinkedIn URL, website, and photo URL
  • Interview date and promotional focus notes
  • PR/publicity notes and any PDF content you upload
  • AI-generated research summaries, bios, and interview questions
  • Show profile settings (show name, description, audience, tone, themes)

Usage Data

We store a count of prep documents created per month to enforce plan limits. We do not currently run analytics or behavioral tracking beyond this.

Billing Data

Payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We store only your Stripe Customer ID and subscription status — never your card number or full payment details.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide the Inquiraly service and generate prep documents on your behalf
  • To enforce account limits and manage your subscription
  • To send you transactional emails related to your account (receipts, limit notices)
  • To respond to support requests

We do not use your prep documents or guest data to train AI models. We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

Inquiraly routes your inputs through several third-party processors to generate content. Each has its own privacy practices:

When you initiate an AI research task, the relevant guest context (name, LinkedIn URL, website, promotional notes) is sent to these providers via API. Please review their policies to understand how they handle API inputs.

5. Data Retention

Your prep documents are retained until you delete them or close your account. When you delete a prep document it is permanently removed from our database. When you close your account, all associated prep documents and show settings are deleted within 30 days.

Billing records are retained as required by law (typically 7 years for financial records).

6. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Your database records are stored on Neon's managed PostgreSQL infrastructure, which uses encryption at rest and in transit. Access to production data is restricted to the application and authorized engineers.

No system is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please email us at hello@designbetter.co before disclosing publicly.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

Inquiraly uses browser localStorage to remember your UI preferences (theme, view mode). We use session cookies required for authentication (via NextAuth). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion — request deletion of your account and data
  • Portability — receive your prep documents in a machine-readable format
  • Opt-out of sale — we do not sell data, so this right is already honored

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@designbetter.co. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

Inquiraly is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. The current effective date is always shown at the top of this page.
